We are so excited to announce the release of our second recording - When You Came. Its really a mini-album with 5 songs recorded in our living room and then engineered by Jimmy Brown in his mobile studio. Just like our first album, this is a collection of original songs written over several years.
You Came To Me: I wrote this song around Christmas of 2014 as a result of thinking deeply about how grateful I am for Jesus and the fact that He truly came to my rescue when no one else did. The only response I have is to worship Him. I felt this song could be sung congregationally through the Christmas season, during Lent, on Resurrection Sunday, and on any day that ends with "y".
Now He Lives: Communion. The Lord's Supper. Eucharist. The one tradition that Christ instituted for us to remember Him and be united in One Body. I've always thought of this as something that we as Christ-followers can enjoy in private, but not so much in public with those who don't know Jesus yet. It is such an exclusive and intimate event, and those who are not Christians feel so left out. Hopefully that draws them in, and not pushes them away. This song celebrates the reason we have this tradition, and reflects the Father's heart for more to join Him at His table. There are very few songs out there that can be sung during communion, so I asked God for a new one to be added to our repertoire. Feel free to use it if you like it :-).
Take Me: Wrote this what feels like ages ago (in the year 2000). I had recently moved from India to the US and was thinking about how God has taken me on this amazing spiritual journey through various terrains - beautiful, difficult, wild, lush - and definitely amazing! Let that adventure continue! Truly humbled by how God used this song to bless the church I was serving with at that time. Apparently some home groups used this song inter Bible study lesson. Lots of fond memories flood my heart every time I sing this this song.
This Battle is Yours: A simple prayer for God to strengthen me during spiritual warfare. We can do nothing without Him. But in Him, we are more than conquerors!! We inserted the military drum line at the end of the song to evoke a sense of confidence that the Mighty Warrior is doing battle on our behalf. And when we feel like its all about to end, the victory drums announce His coming!
Restless: Wrote this shortly after my 40th birthday after meditating on how far the Lord has brought me...but there is so much more to come! My best days are ahead of me. Jesus is my journey, and my reward at the end of the race. He will give me the strength to finish well. You may recognize references from St. Augustine and C.S. Lewis. Yup!
Hope you enjoy our music. And if you do, tell your friends and family.
Blessings to you all!!
His,
~Sumit
