I am so excited to announce the launch of our first studio album titled "In One Heart". Many thanks to all the musicians, singers, artists, and engineers who worked on our first CD recording. I truly could not have done this without you!! Hopefully this will not be the last; there's more from where these came :-). You can buy this album in CD or MP3 format here: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/thedyfference1
This album is a collection of songs that have blessed me over the past 25 years. "Arise" (2009) and "Bring it on" (2012) are prophetic songs ushering in the move of God in our lives and communities. "He will come in power" became a staple youth group anthem at Harvesters Hong Kong in 1994, and for what its worth - has survived several versions in various countries. "Let love arise" arose (sorry couldn't help it!) from one of my evening devotions in 2002 - probably while waiting for my wife to return from her classes in NYC. "All we need" (1990) was written by a 17 year old version of me trying to figure out why we have so much injustice in the world. The problems have gotten worse - the solution is still the same. Recruited my 9 year old son for the last part. "Lonely Woman" could very well be "lonely man", or "child"...or "person". We all feel isolated, sometimes even when there's loved ones around. Only Jesus can fill that void. Probably one of the earlier songs I wrote in 1991 or so.
"Sonshine" was written in my dinky apartment in Hong Kong in 1996. I remember playing it to my roommate and other buddies for the first time and we had some fun with it :-). Glad we could get some 70's vibe in there! "In one heart" was written in 2001 during my first business trip a month after getting married. Life on the road is hard, and I never want to be away from my family for too long. Somehow I see a music video in here somewhere :-). "End of the day" was written in the shower in 2003 - it was a long one, and my water company probably loved me for that! The last song is a short Hindi chorus that I wrote in 2010. Love the tablas played by my cousin Nick, and way we were able to build the song up. Not to be outdone by his older brother, my 7 year old recited the English translation of the song somewhere towards the end.
My prayer is that these songs encourage you to worship God with every breath you have. If you are going through hard times, I hope these tunes serve as agents of encouragement. And may they bring you enjoyment - one of the best things we can ever do in Christ.
His,
~Sumit
